According to the local sources, a long-standing conflict was going on between two BNP groups in the area - one led by Alokbali union BNP convener Shah Alam Chowdhury and the other by expelled member secretary Kaiyum Mia.
Yesterday, during a clash between the groups, Kaiyum supporter Idan Mia, 60, was shot dead, and at least 10 others were injured.
Today, while Friday prayers were underway, supporters of Kaiyum allegedly attacked Royes Ali's house, killing Ferdousi Akter and injuring two others.
