569 more held under 'Operation Devil Hunt'

The joint forces arrested 569 more individuals for their suspected link to destabilize the country under the nationwide "Operation Devil Hunt" in the last 24 hours till this noon, a police headquarters statement said.
With the latest figure, a total of 12,496 alleged anarchists were taken into custody from across the country in the last 21 days since the operation began on February 8 last following a terror attack on the student-people in Gazipur district.
A total of 1,231 crime suspects - 662 on previous cases and warrants and 569 under the operation - were taken into custody during the last 24 hours.

The forces also seized two one barrel country-made pistols, 10 rounds of bullet, 62 grams of gunpowder and four machetes.
