4 unidentified bodies, including woman and child, recovered from Buriganga
The bodies have been sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for autopsy, and forensic experts will assist in identifying the victims

Police recovered four unidentified bodies, including of a woman and a child, from different parts of the Buriganga River in Keraniganj last night (23 August).
According to Prothom Alo, two bodies, a man and a woman, were found floating near Madaripur Ghat in Kalindi Union under Keraniganj Model Police Station around 7:30pm. Members of the Barishur River Police later retrieved the bodies. The man, aged around 40, was wearing a red check shirt and trousers, while the woman, believed to be about 35, was dressed in a red salwar and a grey T-shirt.
Sub-Inspector Moktar Hossain of Barishur River Police Outpost said, "Local residents informed us after spotting the floating bodies of a man and a woman in the Buriganga. During recovery, it was found that one hand of the man was tied to one hand of the woman. It is assumed they died two to three days ago."
He added that the bodies have been sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for autopsy, and forensic experts will assist in identifying the victims.
Earlier in the day, police from Sadarghat River Police Station recovered the bodies of another woman and a young boy from the riverbank near Mirerbag Cold Storage. The woman was estimated to be around 30 years old, while the boy was thought to be between three and four.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadarghat River Police Station Md Sohag Rana said, "First, we recovered a woman's body from the river. A piece of black cloth was wrapped around her neck. About an hour later, the boy's body, also wrapped tightly with a scarf, was found at the same spot. Their identities remain unknown, but efforts are underway to trace them."
