3 ring-tailed lemurs stolen from Gazipur Safari Park; 1 arrested
Efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining two lemurs and arrest the other accused, police say

Following the theft of three globally endangered ring-tailed lemurs from Gazipur Safari Park, the Detective Branch (DB) of DMP has recovered one and arrested a suspect.
Md Delwar Hossain Towsif (22) was arrested yesterday (18 April) after a raid in Jamalpur district.
Subsequently, information from Towsif led to the recovery of a stolen male ring-tailed lemur in Dhaka's Shyambazar area, police said.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman said necessary legal action is being taken against the arrested person.
Efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining two lemurs and arrest the other accused, he said.
According to DB sources, the lemurs were stolen on the night of 23 March from the Safari Park's 'Lamchita Ghar-01'.
A case was filed at Sreepur Police Station regarding the theft.
DB sources said they initiated an investigation at the request of the Ministry of Forests and Environment.
