3 arrested over knife attack on cop during raid in Gazipur
Police have arrested three individuals in connection with an attack on a police officer during a raid in the Jhajar area of Gazipur's Gacha.
The arrestees are Md Moniruzzaman alias Monir, 28, Zahid Mondal Babu, 30, and Nura, 37. All three are residents of Gacha.
Speaking at a press conference at Gacha Police Station today (14 March), Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Crime-South) NM Nasir Uddin said police also recovered a bloodstained police uniform, a knife, and heroin during the arrest.

The incident took place last night when police launched an operation based on a tip-off regarding drug trafficking in the area, he said.
"During the raid, top drug dealer and mugger Monir tried to escape after sensing the presence of police. At that time, when Constable Mostafa Kamal apprehended him, Monir and his accomplices attacked the constable.
"In an attempt to free Monir, the attackers stabbed Constable Mostafa Kamal repeatedly, causing serious injuries to his ear and abdomen. He is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital," Nasir Uddin said.
A case was filed following the attack, he added.
