22 bhori gold looted from Manikganj shop, owner assaulted

Robbers looted around 22 bhori of gold from a jewellery shop in Paschim Dashra area of Manikganj Sadar Upazila and assaulted the jeweller late last night (4 October).
Police said two robbers entered the ground-floor shop 'Abhi Alankar' in Pandav Bhaban at around 12:15am.
They threatened jeweller Shuvo Das by placing a sharp weapon on his neck and looted gold jewellery worth around Tk36 lakh by breaking a locker.
When Shuvo tried to resist, the robbers stabbed him with the weapon, leaving him seriously injured.
Later, he was rushed to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
The local additional superintendent of Police and officials from the concerned police station visited the scene and started an investigation.
