A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped in Rajshahi's Charghat Upazila last night (21 July).
The incident occurred around 8pm when the girl was returning home after attending an Arabic class at a local mosque.
Following the incident, the victim's mother filed a case with Charghat Model Police Station, naming three men as accused. The accused are Limon Islam, Shitu Alam, and Shiba Rahman, all residents of Shrikhandi village.
Confirming the filing of the case, Abdul Malek, officer-in-charge of the police station, told The Business Standard that police were conducting raids to arrest the accused.
According to police and locals, one of the accused, whom she allegedly knew, forced her into a nearby mango orchard in Shrikhandi village, where two others were waiting.
The three men then allegedly took her to a nearby jute field and gang raped her, according to the case statement.
The teenager later returned home and informed her family. Her family took her to the health complex this morning.
