CPA calls meeting over hiked gate pass fee at Ctg port, aims to find resolution
Sunday’s meeting aims to address the concerns of stakeholders and find a resolution regarding the newly introduced gate pass fee enforced by CPA on 15 October.

Following a day-long transport suspension by prime movers today (18 October) the Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has called a meeting tomorrow (19 October) to discuss the increased gate pass fee, from Tk57 to Tk230, for heavy vehicles entering the port area.
According to an official notice issued by the CPA's security directorate today, the meeting will be held at 11:30am at the CPA Security Directorate office. The agenda includes reviewing the proposed "new gate pass fee" under the port's automation project.
The notice, signed by the CPA Director (Security), was sent to key port stakeholders including port users, shipping agents, terminal operators, transport associations, and labour representatives.
Representatives from the Chittagong Port Transport Owners' Association, the Chittagong Prime Mover Trailer Owners Association, the Chittagong Prime Mover Workers Union, and several other organisations have been invited to attend.
The CPA has recently increased the vehicle entry fee, sparking strong protests from transport operators who have announced a suspension of container movement to and from the port starting this morning.
Tomorrow's meeting aims to address the concerns of stakeholders and find a resolution regarding the newly introduced gate pass fee enforced by CPA on 15 October.
