The influx of tourists has sent accommodation bookings soaring, with reservations stretching until 12 April.

Over 55% of rooms in more than 500 hotels, guesthouses, resorts and cottages have already been snapped up, with the remainder expected to be fully booked before 31 March.

The town's daily hospitality capacity stands at a staggering 187,000 visitors, painting a picture of a city pulsating with life and festivity.

Ajmal Huda, Director of the Cox's Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industries, estimates that between 500,000 and 600,000 tourists will grace the coastal town during the extended Eid celebrations.

Should the political climate remain stable, this number could rise even further, adding to the bustling energy of the region.

Huda also underscored the need for vigilance against unfair pricing, urging local authorities to ensure that hotels, eateries and transport providers maintain fair rates for visitors.

A thriving economy and businesses in full bloom 

The vibrant local economy is thriving in the wake of the tourist surge, with markets brimming with an array of coastal treasures.

From shimmering seashells and lustrous oysters to flavourful pickles and the famed dried fish, shopkeepers are embracing the festive rush with enthusiasm.

Storefronts are adorned with bright decorations, while business owners meticulously prepare to welcome an eager crowd of visitors looking to take home a piece of Cox's Bazar's charm.

Md. Abul Kashem, President of the Hotel Motel Owners Association, said nearly 80 per cent of rooms in the city's luxury hotels have already been secured.

In a bid to ensure transparency and fair pricing, hotels have prominently displayed their room rates and travellers are encouraged to verify costs before making reservations.

Many establishments have also embraced digital convenience by offering seamless online booking services.

Unwavering security for a seamless holiday experience  

To accommodate the massive influx of tourists, authorities have put in place comprehensive security measures to guarantee a safe and enjoyable holiday experience.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Jasim Uddin Chowdhury assured visitors that law enforcement is actively working to prevent theft, robbery and traffic congestion, ensuring a smooth and secure stay.

Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salauddin reaffirmed that multiple mobile courts will be deployed to monitor hotel pricing and prevent unscrupulous business practices.

Quick action will be taken against any incidents of tourist harassment or price gouging.

On the sandy shores, 60 lifeguards will be on high alert to safeguard beachgoers, while acting Superintendent of Cox's Bazar Tourist Police, Nihad Adnan Tayan, confirmed that an extensive security network has been established.

Tourist police will be stationed at strategic locations, with designated security posts along the beach ensuring round-the-clock protection for visitors.

While Cox's Bazar's legendary beach remains the heart of the celebrations, an array of breathtaking destinations beyond the city awaits eager travellers.
