Travel embargo imposed on ex-minister Abdur Razzaque, wife, son
The ACC has already appointed an official to investigate allegations of amassing illegal wealth and laundering crores against Razzaque and his family members

A Dhaka court today (9 February) imposed a travel ban on former agriculture minister and Awami League presidium member Md Abdur Razzaque, his wife Shirin Akhter Banu and son Rezwan Shahnewaj over graft allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The anti-graft body in its plea said the former minister and his family members are accused of amassing huge illegal wealth through extortion, embezzlement of government money through corruption and selling party posts, among other irregularities.
"The ACC has already appointed an official to investigate allegations of amassing illegal wealth and laundering crores against Razzaque and his family members. The trio is trying to flee the country to evade justice and travel embargo should be imposed on them," the plea said.
Abdur Razzaque was arrested from the capital's Eskaton area on 14 October and is now behind bars.
