A Dhaka court today again sent listed terrorist and 'seven star' syndicate kingpin Subrata Bain to jail after the end of his remand in an arms case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter passed the order as police produced Subrata before the court after the end of an eight-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep him behind bars till the end of the probe.
The court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain on May 28 had placed him on remand.
Bangladesh Army, in a special operation on 27 May arrested four criminals, including Subrata Bain and Molla Masud and seized five foreign-made pistols and ammunition.
Subrata Bain alias Fateh Ali and his associate Molla Masud alias Abu Russell Masud were arrested from Kushtia district on specific intelligence information.
The following information extracted from the arrestees, the army personnel later arrested two close aides of Subrata Bain, shooters Arafat and Sharif, from the capital's Hatirjheel area.
During the operations, the army team seized five foreign-made pistols, 10 magazines, 53 rounds of ammunition and one satellite phone from their possession. The arrestees have been wanted in various criminal cases, including murder, extortion and sabotage.
