Nur Hossain gets life term in arms case
He has also been acquitted in an extortion case.

Nur Hossain, who was earlier sentenced to death in the ill-famed seven-murder case in Narayanganj, has now been sentenced to life imprisonment in an arms case.
Narayanganj District and Sessions Judge Sabina Yasmin handed down the verdict on Wednesday noon. She also acquitted Nur Hossain in an extortion case.
Advocate Jasmeen Ahmed, an additional public prosecutor of the court, confirmed the information.
Police filed the arms case with Siddhirganj Police Station on 3 August 2014. After scrutinising testimonies of six people, the court sentenced Nur Hossain, the lone accused, to life imprisonment, said the additional PP.
At the same time, the court acquitted Nur Hossain and seven other accused of a separate case filed over extortion charge.
Md Asaduzzamanm, an inspector of Narayanganj court police, said, "Death row inmate Nur Hossain was taken to the court from Kashimpur jail in the morning. After verdicts, he was taken back to jail."
