Mitford murder: Another accused placed on 4-day remand
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Partha Bhattacharjee passed the order following a hearing, Sub-Inspector Tanvir Hossain of the Public Prosecution Division confirmed the matter.

A Dhaka court today (29 July) granted a four-day remand to another accused in connection with the murder of Lal Chand alias Sohag in front of Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Partha Bhattacharjee passed the order following a hearing, Sub-Inspector Tanvir Hossain of the Public Prosecution Division confirmed the matter.
Earlier, Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Moniruzzaman, investigating officer of the case, produced the accused Md Sagar, 36, before the court seeking a ten-day remand.
The court granted four days after hearing both sides.
In the early hours of today, Sagar was arrested based on leads obtained during the ongoing investigation.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of Kotwali police conducted a drive in the Keraniganj area and arrested him. According to DMP's Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman, Sagar's name emerged during the interrogation of previously arrested suspects.
So far, a total of 12 individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder, nine of whom have already confessed in court.
According to the case statement, on 9 July at around 6pm, a group of attackers brutally killed Sohag with stones and sharp weapons near gate no 3 of Mitford Hospital.
The next day, the victim's elder sister Manjuara Begum filed a murder case with Kotwali Police Station against 19 people and 15–20 unknown individuals. Additionally, police lodged a separate arms case related to the same incident.
The 12 arrestees are Mahmudul Hasan Mahin, Titon Gazi, Md Alamgir, Monir alias Lomba Monir, Tarek Rahman Robin, Sajib Bepari, Md Rajib Bepari, Nannu Kazi, Rizwan Uddin alias Abhijit Basu, Md Parvez, Md Zahirul Islam, and Md Sagar.
