Khokon Das murder: 3 accused placed on 2-day remand

A Shariatpur court has placed three accused in two-day remand each in the case filed over the killing of businessman Khokon Chandra Das in Damudya upazila of the district.
Shariatpur Chief Judicial Magistrate Court's Senior Judicial Magistrate Ayesha Akter passed the order last night (4 January).
Investigating officer Swapan Mallik had sought a seven-day remand for the arrested accused – Sohag Khan, Rabbi Molla and Palash Sardar. After a hearing, the court granted two-day remand for each of the three accused.
Confirming the matter, Damudya Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Rabiul Haque told The Business Standard today that interrogation of the accused has begun following the court order.

He died while undergoing treatment in Dhaka on 3 January.
Family members of the victim and local residents have demanded a swift investigation, submission of the charge sheet and exemplary punishment for those responsible.
