Sub-Inspector Md Jahidul Islam Kabir, investigating officer of the case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station, had sought seven days' remand for each accused.
According to the remand petition, police wanted to question them to recover the weapon allegedly used in the killing, identify and arrest absconding and unnamed accused, and gather further details about the incident.
State lawyer Omar Faruq Faruqui supported the remand, while defence lawyers including Mostafizur Rahman Talukder Dipu sought cancellation of the petition.
After hearing both sides, the court granted four days' remand for each accused.
Police arrested Ruhi and Kabir from a residence in the Mohammadpur Police Station area on the afternoon of 23 September.
The following day, a court rejected their bail petitions and ordered that they be sent to jail.
