ICT rejects Dipu Moni's parole plea
The tribunal directed her to submit the request to the Ministry of Home Affairs instead

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has rejected a parole petition filed by former minister Dipu Moni, who is currently in prison in connection with mass killings during July-August mass uprising.
Following a hearing, the tribunal directed her to submit the request to the Ministry of Home Affairs instead.
Confirming the matter, ICT Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam told reporters today (30 April) that Dipu Moni sought parole to care for her ailing husband, who is currently hospitalised.
According to the plea, her husband is undergoing medical treatment and requires her presence for care and support.
Dipu Moni, a former minister of social welfare, was arrested on 19 August from Baridhara in the capital in connection with a case filed over the murder of grocery store owner Abu Sayeed in the capital's Mohammadpur during the uprising.
