The High Court on Monday rejected anticipatory bail plea of Abdus Salam, managing director of DOM-INNO Builders Ltd, in a case filed over forgery in constructing buildings.

The High Court also directed Salam to surrender before a Dhaka court in two weeks.

A High Court bench of Justice Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam came up with the directive after holding hearing the petition filed by architect Abdus Salam.

Senior lawyer barrister Moinul Hossain argued on behalf of Salam while Barrister EKM Farhan stood for Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik represented the state.

ACC Assistant Director Ali Akber filed the case on November 8, 2016 against five people including Abdus Salam with Banani Police Station on charge of constructing building showing fake Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) approval.

The four other accused in the case are Samsur Rahman, engineer of National Housing Authority and also former authorised officer of Rajuk, Shafiqul Islam, former authorised officer of Rajuk, Muslem Uddin, chief building inspector and Kazi Amit Hasan, data entry operator.
