Ex-BCL vice president Abu Sama, another sent to jail in anti-terror case
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque passed the order

A Dhaka court has sent two former Chhatra League leaders to jail in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The accused are Abu Sama, former BCL vice president, and Md Zahidul Islam, president of Telikhali Union Chhatra League in Pirojpur.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque passed the order today (24 August) after police produced the accused in court.
Investigation officer Inspector Alamgir Hossain of DB's Khilgaon zonal team sought their detention until the probe is complete, while defence lawyers applied for bail.
However, the hearing on the bail petitions could not take place due to the absence of original case documents. The court then ordered the duo to be sent to jail.
According to the case statement, around 50–60 people brought out a procession from Golap Shah Mazar in Gulistan at 5:25am on 26 March, allegedly to spread anti-state propaganda, desecrate Independence Day, disrupt public safety, and create unrest. The participants reportedly fled upon sensing police presence.
Later that day, police filed a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Paltan Model Police Station.
