Arrest warrants issued against Asif Apparels MD, director over Tk207cr Janata Bank loan default
Judge Mujahidur Rahman of Dhaka's Money Loan Court No-5 passed the order today (27 August) following a petition by the bank.
A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against Asif Apparels Ltd Managing Director (MD) Salahuddin Ahmed and his son, Director Asif Salahuddin, in connection with the default of Tk207 crore in loans taken from Janata Bank.
Judge Mujahidur Rahman of Dhaka's Money Loan Court No-5 passed the order today (27 August) following a petition by the bank.
According to court sources, the export-oriented garment factory, located in Gazipur's Konabari, borrowed heavily from Janata Bank's Janata Bhaban corporate branch but later defaulted on repayment, becoming a classified borrower.
Janata Bank subsequently filed a case with the money loan court to recover the debt.
However, after mortgaged properties were auctioned without yielding sufficient recovery, the court issued arrest warrants against the company's MD and director.
