A Dhaka court today (26 May) showed seven people, including Anisul Huq, Salman F Rahman and Zunaid Ahmed Palak, arrested in cases filed over murders and attempted murders that took place during the July Mass Uprising.

The other individuals shown arrested today were: former acting mayor of Gazipur City Corporation Asadur Rahman Kiron, Awami League (AL) activist Mokter Hossain Chokder, former general secretary of Dhaka South City unit AL Shah-e Alam Murad and AL leader Asaduzzaman Rajon.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Mohammad Zunayed passed the orders as police produced the seven before the court and pleaded to show them as arrested in the cases.

Subsequently, the court sent them back to jail.

Salman F Rahman was shown arrested in three cases filed with Gulshan and Mirpur Police Stations. Kiron was shown arrested in two cases filed with the Uttara East Police Station.

Anisul Huq and Palak were shown arrested in a case filed with Mirpur Police Station, while Mokter, Murad, and Rajon were shown arrested in three separate cases filed with Kafrul and New Market Police Stations.
