The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated Hossain Sohrab Uddin Shah, personal assistant (PA) of Bhola-3 lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawon, who was allegedly accumulating illegal wealth involving in illegal casino businesses.

Confirming the matter, ACC Director Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said that a team led by ACC Director Syed Iqbal Hossain grilled Hossain Sohrab from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday.

Earlier on March 4, the anti-graft body sent letter asking Sohrab to be present at its Segunbagicha headquarters on March 11.

After the casino scandal came to light, the names of some parliament members were added into the ACC investigation list.

Parliamentarian Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawon, ruling party MP from Sunamganj-4 constituency Moamzzem Hossain Ratan, Chittagong-12 MP Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, and Pankaj Debnath from Barishal are among the listed people by the ACC.

The ACC has questioned Moazzem Hossain Ratan last month.

Initially, the investigation was launched against 43 people. But now the list has become longer with more than 200 people, according to an ACC high-level source.

A five-member ACC investigation team, led by its Director Syed Iqbal Hossain, began the probe over illegal amassing of wealth followed by the anti-casino raids in September last year.
