The Constitution of Bangladesh has already been written on the walls, Adviser Nahid Islam said yesterday.

"We are talking about a new Constitution, but the Constitution is already written on the walls of Bangladesh," said the adviser while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a graffiti exhibition and revolutionary poetry reading at the National Museum in Dhaka.

The adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting highlighted how the youth of Bangladesh have expressed their vision for the country through graffiti, showcasing their aspirations on the walls. He emphasised that the students who were part of the student-led mass uprising must stay organised, as they are the true bearers of the uprising's hope.

According to Nahid, this generation, often perceived as materialistic, has proven the world wrong by sacrificing their lives for the student-led mass uprising, inspiring similar movements globally.

He also noted that despite some changes in the bureaucratic system, many students who participated in the student-led mass uprising remain neglected. If the desires of the July uprising are not fulfilled, he warned that the people may turn against the government, urging everyone to unite and work together.

Addressing the role of graffiti, Nahid Islam remarked that during curfews and other restrictions, graffiti became a medium for people to voice their thoughts on the walls. These walls have become witnesses to the revolution, preserving the spirit of the new Bangladesh.

The exhibition, featuring over 25,000 graffiti pieces, was organised by the Academy of Generation Art, Literature, and Culture, alongside the Ministry of Culture. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Snigdha, the brother of martyr Mugdha.
