Consensus Commission holds meeting with experts on ways to implement July Charter
Experts were briefed on political parties’ opinions to provide context

The National Consensus Commission today (20 September) held a meeting with experts to discuss methods and approaches for implementing the July Charter.
The discussion took place this morning in the LD Hall of the Jatiya Sangsad, according to a press release issued by the commission.
Experts at the meeting included Justice M A Matin of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury, Dhaka University Law Faculty Dean Professor Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court Dr Sharif Bhuiyan, Barrister Tanim Hossain Shawon, and Barrister Imran Siddique.
During the meeting, the experts were briefed on a summary of earlier discussions held with political parties regarding the commission's proposed recommendations for implementing the charter.
The opinions, advice, and concerns expressed by different political parties were highlighted in detail to provide the experts with a comprehensive understanding of the overall context.
The commission then received the experts' views on possible strategies and mechanisms for implementing the charter. Based on their analysis and recommendations, the commission evaluated the positions and perspectives of the political parties, which will be taken into account in framing future action plans.
Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md Emdadul Haque, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, and Dr Md Ayub Miah attended the meeting.
Special assistant to the chief adviser on the national consensus process, Monir Haider, was also present.
