Consensus commission holds meeting with experts on implementation of July Charter

The National Consensus Commission has held another meeting with experts to discuss recommendations on the methods and mechanisms for implementing the July National Charter 2025.
The meeting took place today (22 October) at the commission's conference room in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, said a press release.
Retired judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court Justice MA Matin and Barrister Imran Siddique were present as experts.
In addition, Retired Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Dhaka Dr Muhammad Ekramul Haque, and Senior Advocate Dr Sharif Bhuiyan joined the meeting virtually.
The meeting reviewed various recommendations related to the implementation of the July Charter and held extensive discussions on the advice received from the experts.
The commission will meet internally tomorrow morning to discuss the issues further and will sit again with the experts at 2pm tomorrow.
On behalf of the commission, Vice‑Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md Emdadul Haque, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, Safar Raj Hossain, and Dr Mohammad Ayub Mia took part in the discussions.
The chief adviser's Special Assistant (Consensus) Monir Haidar was also present at the meeting.
