Collective effort essential for inclusive and sustainable world: Hossain Zillur Rahman

Building a sustainable and inclusive world requires the power of collective effort, renowned economist and former adviser to the caretaker government Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman has said.
Drawing an analogy with ocean waves, he remarked, "The large waves we see in the sea are formed by countless small waves that often go unnoticed. Yet, they do not stop. Similarly, positive contributions, however small, must be made consistently and passionately for the country and its people. We must work silently but with dedication."
Zillur Rahman was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the new office of the SDG Youth Forum in Nasirabad Housing Society, Chattogram, yesterday (5 April), reads a press release.
Emphasising the importance of youth engagement, he said, "To build a prosperous nation, we must nurture a mindset grounded in youthfulness and strive to acquire skills that contribute meaningfully to society."
The event was presided over by SDG Youth Forum President Noman Ullah Bahar, with Forum member Md. Shahadat Hossain serving as moderator.
Industrialist and education promoter AM Mahbub Chowdhury, academic and Three Zero Club support person Dr Muhammad Kamal Uddin, former deputy secretary to the government SM Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury, former BGMEA director Saif Ullah Monsur, journalist Shamsuddin Ilius; development activist Sohel Akhtar Khan; women entrepreneur Farhana Haque; young entrepreneur Lion Sajjad Uddin, among others, were present at the occasion as special guests.
The inauguration ceremony highlighted the Forum's commitment to fostering youth leadership aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and empowering the next generation to become changemakers in their communities.
