A group of students today (20 November) brought out a coffin procession at Dhaka University demanding a ban on political activities of Awami League, Jatiyo Party, and other "fascist forces".

During the procession titled "March with Coffin of Fascism", students carried a coffin and chanted various anti-fascism slogans.

Protesters under the banner of "Anti-Fascism Student-People" began their procession from the TSC area, marched across the campus, and concluded in front of Madur Canteen.

Speaking at a short rally at the end of the procession, Chhatra Odhikar Parishad President Bin Yamin Mollah, said, "If the chief advisor thinks that the people of the country want the Awami League back, then he should arrange a referendum on the issue.

He also suggested an additional referendum question on whether citizens support their participation in the next election.

He further said, "The chief advisor's stance regarding Awami League must be clarified."

"Why should the Awami League, Jatiya Party and their allies participate in the next national election? The parties must be banned," he added.

Addressing advisors Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud, he urged them to act boldly, stating, "You should work with the spirit of mass uprising. Don't be afraid—work fearlessly. We will not let you fail."

Referring to both the Awami League and the Jatiya Party as "old rubbish," he added, "Now is the time to build a new state by discarding this garbage. Yet, leaders of major parties are attempting to rehabilitate the fascist Awami League and its ally, the Jatiya Party. They want to hold elections with them. We, the students and general people will not allow this."

At that time, he also outlined five key demands for the interim government, including prohibiting the Awami League, Jatiya Party, and their allies from participating in the next national elections, barring candidates who previously contested elections under fascist banners from running independently in next election and uprooting business entities allied with fascism.
