Chinese experts offer to assist in Khaleda Zia’s treatment in Dhaka, says BNP chief’s doctor
A specialised Chinese medical team has expressed interest in coming to Bangladesh to assist in the treatment of BNP chief former prime minister Khaleda Zia, a member of her personal medical team said today (29 November)
He, preferring not to be named, said specialists from several friendly countries have already been monitoring the condition of Khaleda Zia, currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka's Evercare Hospital.
Among them, a Chinese specialist team has shown willingness to travel to Dhaka to support her treatment, he added.
Responding to questions about the possibility of taking Khaleda Zia abroad for advanced medical care amid the deterioration of her health, the physician said her condition remains critical.
"The medical board believes she is not physically stable enough for air travel at this moment. Several important tests are ongoing. Once the reports are available, further decisions will be taken," he added.
Khaleda Zia has long suffered from heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, liver cirrhosis, kidney complications and other ailments.
She was rushed to Evercare Hospital last Sunday after experiencing breathing difficulties.
