Chattogram hosts first Content Creator Awards, honours 16 people
Winners reflected the diversity of Chattogram's creator ecosystem
Chattogram hosted the first Content Creator Award on Wednesday evening (7 January), celebrating the city's growing digital community and recognising outstanding creators across 14 categories at a colourful event.
Presented by Honda and powered by Delta LP Gas, the Content Creator Award 2025 Chattogram was held at the Radisson Blu's Mezbaan Hall in the port city.
The event was organised by Mediagraphy with support from The Business Standard, bringing together content creators, industry leaders, policymakers and cultural figures, and highlighting the growing influence of regional digital content.
A total of 388 content creators from Chattogram applied for the awards. Winners were selected by a jury panel and announced on stage amid cultural performances, documentary screenings and live presentations.
The programme began with a red carpet reception at 4:30pm, followed by the main ceremony at 6pm.
The event was inaugurated with a welcome address by Rowshan Ara Chowdhury, convenor of the award ceremony, who emphasised the social importance of content creators and the need to formally recognise their contributions.
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Shahadat Hossain, attending as chief guest, said digital content now plays a significant role in shaping society and encouraging positive creativity among young people.
He urged creators to work with honesty and integrity and to contribute to building a clean and green Chattogram.
Two prominent musicians and lyricists – Nakib Khan and Asif Iqbal – were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards in recognition of their long-standing contributions to music. Fahad Lokman and Eliza Binte Elahi received Special Recognition Awards for their consistent impact and influence.

Uthoiyoy Marma won Best Content Creator (Education), Shamim Ahmed Mona (Entertainment and Comedy), Rohit Chakma (Food and Recipe), Huril Jannath (Health and Wellbeing), Sanjida Islam Sayma (Fashion and Beauty) and Robiul Islam (Social Cause).
In music and performance categories, Briste Dey was named Best Singer (Female), Ariyan Chowdhury Best Singer (Male), while Akash Dey and Shipon Biswas won in the Music category. Priyanka Barua received the award for Dance and Performance.
Sports content creators were also recognised, with Sazzad Ghanem, Omor Faruk Minhaz, and Abdur Rahim jointly winning in the Sports category. Mohammed Fahem Sharier won Best Travel Vlog, while Smita Chowdhury emerged as a standout, winning both Best Brand Promoter and Best Popular Content Creator.
The Business Standard Deputy Editor Sajjadur Rahman said the event demonstrated how content creation has evolved into a responsible and influential medium, adding that initiatives outside Dhaka would strengthen the country's digital media culture.
In his concluding remarks, The Business Standard Chattogram Bureau Chief Shamsuddin Illius said the initiative would encourage creators to act more responsibly towards society. "We hope creators will produce more authentic and meaningful content that raises social awareness," he said.
Milton Das, managing director of Mediagraphy and organiser of the event, said the award ceremony has set a new benchmark for recognising creative excellence in Chattogram and is expected to play a key role in taking the city's digital content ecosystem to the national stage.
Among other dignitaries and special guests present were Mohammad Mohsin, vice president of PHP Group; SM Abu Tayub, managing director of Independent Apparels; Sarwar Jahan, deputy managing director of KSRM Group and SR Shipping; young politicians Israfil Khasru and Jubairul Arif; Lion Osman Gani, managing director of Hossain Packaging; Tanvir Shahriar Rimon, chief executive officer of Rancon Properties; Manjurul Haque of Barcode Restaurant Group; Adib Kamal, director of Meridian Group; public health specialist Dr Somen Palit; and Muhammad Ali Shahin, head of advocacy at YPSA.
