Central bank postpones MPC meeting scheduled for today

The Bangladesh Bank has postponed the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, which was scheduled for today (4 March) under the chairmanship of the new Governor, Mostakur Rahman.
The meeting was expected to be held as part of the central bank's regular MPC proceedings. However, several officials confirmed that the session has been postponed.
On Sunday (1 March), his second working day in office, Mostakur Rahman held a meeting with the Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB). During the meeting, the Governor stated that he intends to increase private sector credit growth, for which the policy rate will be slightly reduced.
On Monday (2 March), a high-ranking official told The Business Standard, "The MPC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 12pm."
Following the Governor's meeting with top bankers on Sunday, conversations with several officials from the central bank's Monetary Policy Department revealed that the policy rate is set to be reduced by 0.50 basis points from the current 10% in today's monetary policy meeting
