Car catches fire on Marine Drive in Cox’s Bazar
The vehicle was completely burnt in the incident, though no casualties were reported.
A car caught fire on the Marine Drive in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar this morning (19 April).
The incident took place at around 6:15am in the Bara Dail area of Teknaf's Marine Drive, confirmed Teknaf Fire Service and Civil Defence station officer Jamin Mia.
The vehicle was completely burnt in the incident, though no casualties were reported.
Jamin said the passenger car left Teknaf Shapla Chattar carrying four passengers towards Cox's Bazar. The vehicle suddenly caught fire due to a mechanical fault and quickly went up in flames.
All passengers managed to get out of the vehicle immediately, preventing a major accident.
However, the driver, Md Fiar Alam of Teknaf Kochubonia area, fell ill after the incident. Locals rescued him and sent him to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital.
Fire service officials said the fire was brought under control quickly due to their prompt action.
