Captain Md Abdul Basit Mahtab and Captain Sadat Jamil have been elected as the new president and general secretary of the Bangladesh Airline Pilots Association (BAPA) respectively.

The election results with a 13-member executive committee were announced on yesterday (11 February), said a Biman Bangladesh Airlines press release today (12 February).

The other members of the full executive committee are- Captain Md Mehedi Hasan as vice president, Captain Muntasir Mahbub as treasurer, Captain Manab Dipto as joint secretary (Administration), First Officer Ishtiaq Ahmed as joint secretary (Operations) and Captain Atiab Zubair Zafar as joint secretary (Current Affairs).

The executive members of the committee are- First Officer Md Soleiman, First Officer Mohsin Kamal, First Officer Shamir Uddin Ahmed, First Officer Abu Zafar Mahmud Rafsan, First Officer Md Rubab Islam Khan, and First Officer Abdullah Al Noman.

BAPA is a registered trade union of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and an active member of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots' Associations (IFALPA), while it works closely with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
