CA Yunus to address nation this evening
The speech will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar, according to the CA Press Wing

Chief Adviser (CA) Muhammad Yunus will deliver a speech to the nation at 7pm today (25 March), extending his greetings on the occasion of tomorrow's Independence Day (26 March) and the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The speech will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar, according to the CA Press Wing.
Yunus is expected to depart Dhaka for China on 26 March to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 in Boao, Hainan Province, South China and hold bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Earlier this morning, Yunus presented the Independence Award-2025 to seven distinguished individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions at the national level.
The country's highest civilian honour was awarded at a ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
Following that, the CA unveiled a commemorative postage stamp in observance of the Independence and National Day, to be observed tomorrow (26 March).
Meanwhile, the nation is also solemnly observing "Genocide Day" today, commemorating the horrific atrocities committed by the Pakistan occupation army on the night of 25 March in 1971.
This day stands as a grim reminder of one of the darkest chapters in Bangladesh's history when the Pakistani military indiscriminately massacred unarmed Bangalees, including students, teachers and police personnel.
Marking the occasion, CA Yunus yesterday paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives, emphasising that their sacrifices paved the way for the country's hard-earned independence through a nine-month-long Liberation War.
"The 'New Bangladesh' will emerge as a strong, peaceful, and democratic country—this is our pledge on Genocide Day," he said.
