BSRI Scientists’ Association gets new committee

The executive committee of the Scientists' Association of the Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute (BSRI), located in Ishwardi, Pabna, has been formed following the decision of the association's general meeting, BSRI authorities confirmed on Sunday.

Dr Md Shamsul Arefin, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the Physiology and Sugar Chemistry Division, has been elected President, while Dr Md Munir Hossain Mitul, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the On-farm Research Division, has been elected General Secretary.

Other office bearers include: Vice President — Chief Scientific Officer Dr AKM Rashedul Islam; Joint General Secretary — Senior Scientific Officer Dr Md Shariful Islam; Publicity and Communication Secretary — Scientific Officer Md Robiul Islam; Seminar and Publication Secretary — Senior Scientific Officer Dr Md Shafiqul Islam; Office Secretary — Scientific Officer Naznin Sultana; and Treasurer — Scientific Officer Dr Md Nur Alam.

The elected Executive Members are Chief Scientific Officer Dr Md Nure Alam Siddique, Dr KM Rezaul Karim, Dr Hasan Mohammad Tariq, Dr Md Sohrab Hossain (In-charge, RSRRS Thakurgaon), and Dr Nilufar Islam (In-charge, RSRRS Gazipur).
