BSF returns 2 Bangladeshi students through Naogaon border

They are Mohammad Minhazul Islam, 23, and Tamim Ahmed Sourav, 23, students of Naogaon Degree College and Sapahar Government Degree College, respectively.

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) returned two Bangladeshi college students, who were detained while making Tiktok video in the Indian territory along Naogaon border, to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) yesterday (16 June).

They are Mohammad Minhazul Islam, 23, and Tamim Ahmed Sourav, 23, students of Naogaon Degree College and Sapahar Government Degree College, respectively.

Locals said yesterday afternoon, when five to six friends entered Indian territory through Bamnopara border in Aihai Union of  Sapahar upazila for making TikTok videos and taking selfies BSF members detained the duo.

On information, a BGB team went to the spot to rescue them but failed.

Later, a flag meeting was held between the BSF and BGB and the students were handed over to the BGB.

Lt Col Sadikur Rahman, commandant of the BGB-16 Battalion in the district, said they handed over the students to police after receiving from the BSF.

Officer-in-charge of Sapahar police station Abdul Aziz said a case was filed against them on charge of trespassing into India.
