Body of ex-UP member found in Brahmanbaria
The body showed a cut mark on the throat, indicating that he was murdered by cutting his throat
Police have recovered the body of a former union parishad member from a water body in Brahmanbaria's Bancharampur upazila yesterday (30 November).
The deceased has been identified as Abu Musa Sarkar, 65, a former ward member of Salimabad union. He ran a dredger business.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Bancharampur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Jamil Khan said, "Musa's body was recovered around 6pm from a water body in the union's Hossainpur village."
"The body showed a cut mark on the throat, indicating that he was murdered by cutting his throat. Police have launched an operation to identify and arrest those involved, and a formal case is being filed," the OC added.
According to family members, he left home last night, claiming he was going to work, and did not return. Locals discovered his body the following afternoon.
