BNP leader killed, 2 farmers injured after being hit by lightning in Kishoreganj
A BNP leader was killed and two other farmers were injured after being struck by lightning in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj today.
The incident occurred around 7am at the Char Kawna Moishakanda area of Jangalia union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Abu Taher Mia, 50, son of late Sirajul Islam of the area.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pakundia Police Station M Sakhawat Hossain said the body has been recovered and handed over to the family as no complaint was filed.
According to locals, Taher Mia, a member of BNP's Jangalia Union Convener Committee, along with two farmers went to work in a crop field early in the morning.
A storm broke out and they took shelter in a water pump house located there. At that moment, lightning struck killing Taher at the scene and injuring two others.
