The birth and death registration programme of the Dhaka North City Corporation has resumed from Wednesday (9 October) after being closed for almost two weeks.

From now on, the service will be provided from the regional office of the DNCC, and for this, an officer has been appointed in each region.

Earlier, the service was provided from the councillor's office.

On 26 September, when the ward councillors of the different city corporations were removed, the birth and death registration process was halted at the wards of Dhaka north city. Although most of the ward councillors were on the run after 5 August, the service was virtually stopped.

In a circular signed by Maqbul Hossain, public relations officer of the DNCC, it said, "Birth and death registration activities are being conducted continuously from Wednesday in all wards of Dhaka north city."

The service of birth and death registration of 54 wards under 10 regions of Dhaka north city will be provided with the help of the officer-in-charge of the regional office and an assistant registrar of the office.

Earlier on 30 September, except for the birth and death registration, the rest of the services, such as citizenship certificates, inheritance certificates, character certificates, and family certificates, were provided by the regional executive officer of the north city.

To get birth and death registration, one must go to the online link and give a copy of the required documents along with an application.

Later, a copy of the application and a photocopy of the required documents submitted online should be submitted to the officer-in-charge.
