BGMEA urges garment sector MPs to speak up on industry challenges and national issues in Parliament
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) today (26 February) hosted a reception for ministers, state ministers, and members of parliament elected from the apparel sector.
The event took place at the Army Golf Club in Dhaka, recognising 17 individuals from the garment industry who won seats in the 13th National Parliament. BGMEA said the gathering aimed to both honour their achievements and encourage them to champion the apparel sector's concerns in Parliament.
BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan said, "Those from our industry who have been elected to Parliament we hope you will raise issues not only concerning your constituencies and national development but also the challenges faced by our sector. The problems we encounter daily need your voice in the House."
