Bangladeshi expat wins over Tk3cr in Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw

A Bangladeshi expatriate has won 1 million dirhams (more than Tk3 crore) in Abu Dhabi's Big Ticket Series 288 consolation draw, joining four Indian expatriates who also received the same prize.
Mohammad Atik Hasan secured the prize after his ticket number 359685 was selected as one of the five winning tickets, reports Gulf News.
The winners, all UAE residents, shared a total of Dh5 million in consolation prizes.

Organisers said the prize money would help the winners support their families, repay debts and build long-term savings.
While Big Ticket released detailed stories of the Indian winners, it only confirmed Hasan's name and winning ticket number for the Bangladeshi winner.
Among the other winners was Upendran Siju, a 40-year-old operations in-charge from Kerala, who has been living in the UAE for two decades. After participating in Big Ticket every month for the past nine years with a group of 20 people, he won for the first time.
"I was so happy and so surprised when I got the call," Siju said, adding that he plans to use his share of the prize money to clear personal loans.
Another winner, Sivaprasad Raveendran, an oil and gas supervisor who has lived in the UAE for 29 years, finally won after participating in the draw for 12 years with a group of 27 people.
"The prize will be split among our group, and with my share, I plan to support my family back home, especially my daughter, who is currently studying in Kerala," he said.
Akhil NB, an airport team leader from Kerala, struck lucky on his very first Big Ticket purchase. Participating with five friends, he said he initially could not believe he had won.
"At first, I couldn't believe it. I checked the Big Ticket website myself, and once I knew it was real, I was so happy," he said, adding that he intends to invest his share for future savings.
The fifth Dh1 million winner was Indian expatriate Lancy Paris, whose ticket number 434420 was selected in the draw.
Big Ticket's July campaign continues with a Dh20 million grand prize, which will be drawn live on 3 August. The promotion also includes five Dh100,000 consolation prizes, three weekly e-draws offering Dh25,000 each to four winners, and luxury car giveaways, including a Maserati Grecale and a Land Rover Defender.
Big Ticket is one of the UAE's most popular raffle programmes, with participants purchasing tickets for a chance to win cash prizes and luxury vehicles through monthly draws.
