Bangladesh Coast Guard reaches remote flood-hit communities in Feni

Bangladesh Coast Guard distributed relief among flood-affected families in several remote areas of Parshuram upazila in Feni on Sunday, 13 July 2025, as part of its continued humanitarian support in disaster-hit regions.
The relief drive was carried out under the Coast Guard East Zone, covering the Satkuchia, Dakshin Berabaria, Shailia, Sahebnagar, and Chitlia areas. Thousands of families in Chhagalnaiya, Fulgazi, Parshuram, and Feni Sadar upazilas have been severely affected by waterlogging and flash floods triggered by days of heavy rainfall and upstream runoff.
"Many people have taken shelter after being displaced by the floods, while countless others are suffering in waterlogged homes," said Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid, Media Officer at Coast Guard Headquarters.
Since its inception, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has responded to natural disasters in coastal, riverine, and flood-prone areas, supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable communities through relief and socio-economic efforts. The force is also engaged in maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety in the sea and riverine territories.
Lt Commander Harun confirmed that the Coast Guard will continue such humanitarian efforts in the coming days.
