Attempted murder case: Lawyer withdraws bail plea for Ducsu VP candidate Jalal
Lawyer Rafiq said they will appeal tomorrow for Jalal’s bail

Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) vice president candidate Jalal Ahmed alias Jalamoyee Jalal's lawyer has withdrawn the bail petition for Jalal in a case filed against him over attempting to murder his dormitory roommate.
The case was scheduled for a hearing at the court Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque today (1 September).
During the hearing, Jalal's lawyer Rafique-ul-Islam withdrew the bail petition, citing a lack of adequate preparation regarding the case.
Lawyer Rafiq said they will appeal tomorrow for Jalal's bail.
Jalal, a student of the 2013-2014 session at DU and a resident of the university's Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall, attacked his roommate Md Robiul Haque following an altercation over a trivial matter in the early hours of 27 August.
Jalal was sent to jail through the court on the same day after the DU administration expelled him from the dormitory and filed a case against him at Shahbagh police station on allegation of attempted murder.
Robiul was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with stab wounds. He is currently undergoing treatment.
