A video of a youth, along with the driver of the car he was riding in, beating up a reported rickshaw passenger in the Dhanmondi-7 area has gone viral, drawing severe criticism from netizens.
Tanin Haque, who posted the video on her Facebook profile, claimed in the post that the video was recorded in the afternoon in front of the Baitul Aman Jame-e-Masjid last afternoon (8 March).
Tanin, in her post, claimed the incident took place after the car, which the young man was a passenger of, hit a rickshaw from behind at high speed, prompting protests by the rickshaw puller and the passenger of the rickshaw.
A verbal argument followed, and at one point, the youth, wearing a black shirt, hit the rickshaw's passenger multiple times, shows the video.
When contacted, Dhanmondi Police Station officials said they couldn't identify the people involved in the incident immediately. No complaint has been filed in this regard either.
