Army, Navy and Air Force chiefs visit Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital
They left Evercare Hospital around 9:20pm, says BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan
The chiefs of Bangladesh's Army, Navy and Air Force visited Evercare Hospital tonight (2 December) to inquire about the health of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment there.
Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman and Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan visited the former prime minister at the hospital, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a message.
BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said the chiefs of the three armed forces left Evercare Hospital around 9:20pm.
Security has been tightened around Evercare Hospital since Khaleda Zia's admission. Members of the Special Security Force (SSF), Presidential Guard Regiment (PGR), police and other law enforcement agencies have been deployed.
The hospital's main gate has been reinforced with barbed-wire barricades, restricting public movement in the area.
Khaleda Zia, has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital since 23 November with multiple health complications.
She was moved to the CCU on 27 November after her condition deteriorated.
Earlier in the day, her personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said the medical board, comprising local and foreign specialists, confirmed that Khaleda Zia is responding to ongoing treatment and that there is a possibility she may recover this time.
