Anisul, Salman sent to jail in murder case after 2-day remand
Police arrested the two on 13 August last year from the capital’s Sadarghat area while they were attempting to flee via river route, based on a tip-off.

Former law minister Anisul Huq and ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's adviser Salman F Rahman have been sent to jail following the end of their two-day police remand in a murder case filed over the death of man during the July uprising in Dhaka's Jatrabari area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan granted the plea and ordered their detention in jail today (25 July) after Investigation Officer Md Amirul Islam Mir produced the duo before the court and sought their incarceration.
Earlier, on 23 July, a Dhaka court had granted a two-day remand for them in connection with the case.
According to the case statement, on 21 July last year, Sajedur Rahman Omar took part in a protest near the Kajla footover bridge in Jatrabari along with other students and public.
In the afternoon, he was shot in the head during an attack and was admitted to a hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on 24 August last year.
Following the incident, on 3 January, Syed Tanvir Ahmed filed a case with Jatrabari Police Station, accusing 79 individuals, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
In that case, Anisul Huq was named as the 8th accused and Salman F Rahman as the 11th.
Police arrested the two on 13 August last year from the capital's Sadarghat area while they were attempting to flee via river route, based on a tip-off. The next day, they were remanded for 10 days in a separate murder case filed with Dhaka New Market Police Station.
Since then, the duo has been remanded multiple times in several cases filed with various police stations across Dhaka.
