What ISPR says about multi-agency firefighting efforts at Dhaka airport
Later updates from the Inter-Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) confirmed that the firefighting operation was a multi-agency effort

A massive fire broke out in the cargo area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka this afternoon (18 October), forcing a temporary suspension of flight operations as a combined force of 32 firefighting units battled the blaze.
Initial efforts to control the blaze began immediately with the airport's fire section and the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) fire unit rushing to the scene.
Later updates from the Inter-Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) confirmed that the firefighting operation was a multi-agency effort. The ISPR stated: "Bangladesh Fire Service, two fire units from the Bangladesh Air Force, and the Bangladesh Civil Aviation are working to extinguish the fire that occurred in the cargo section of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport."
ISPR issued a subsequent update indicating the involvement of another service, the Bangladesh Navy, working in tandem to bring the fire under control.
Fire service confirmed receiving the information at 2:30pm. The fire originated in the cargo village near Gate No 8 of the airport, according to FSCD official Talha Bin Jashim.
At the time of filing this report, twenty fire units are actively working to douse the fire, with the remaining units en route.
