Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, has called for increased public awareness to prevent the destruction of national assets.

He made this appeal during a media briefing after travelling from Agargaon to the Bangladesh Secretariat metro station today (25 August).

Adviser Fouzul urged metro commuters to use the metro responsibly and announced that urgent repairs will be made to the Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations. He also indicated that support from the Japanese ambassador will be sought for these repairs.

In efforts to improve metro rail security, Fouzul declared the metro rail an essential service and directed the senior secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division and the managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited to update it to key point installation and take necessary actions.

The adviser stressed that the current government is strong and a product of public and student uprisings, urging citizens to give the government time to address past injustices, corruption, and sectoral inequalities from the previous administration.

Md Ehsanul Haque, senior secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division, and MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, were also present at the briefing, along with other senior ministry officials.
