Adviser Farida 'misspoke' about NDA with US on tariff: Shafiqul Alam
In a Facebook post today (14 August), the press secretary wrote, “Keeping NDA confidential is an established diplomatic practice.”

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has clarified that Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter "misspoke" regarding concerns over the non-disclosure of draft agreement (NDA) with the United States on tariff.
In a Facebook post today (14 August), the press secretary wrote, "Keeping NDA confidential is an established diplomatic practice."
He added, "The interim government is fully committed to ensuring transparency in its work and plans to request the US authorities to lift the non-disclosure clause once the tariff agreements are fully finalised."
Yesterday at an event, Farida said, as quoted by Samakal, "My opinion on the NDA is that, as a citizen, we cannot accept this. I personally feel helpless about it."
