Accusations-counter accusations will not affect trials: Chief prosecutor
Speaking at a press briefing today (26 February), Aminul remarked that the allegations coming from both sides of the prosecutorial team would never affect the trial as long as he holds his position
International Crimes Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Aminul Islam said allegations and counter-allegations among prosecutors regarding financial irregularities and corruption will not influence the proceedings of the court.
Speaking at a press briefing today (26 February), Aminul remarked that the allegations coming from both sides of the prosecutorial team would never affect the trial as long as he holds his position.
"I have never compromised on principles. Therefore, no innocent person will face harassment and no offender will escape accountability. This is a clear and evident message," he added.
Aminul Islam further emphasised that the judicial process will not come to a halt. "This is our family. Many issues arise within, but that does not mean the family does not function. All of us working at the tribunal are members of the same family. While internal matters will arise, they will also be resolved," he said.
