The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Bangladesh recently hosted a successful symposium on Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Global Talent Trends (GTT), and Sustainability.

The full-day event, held on Saturday in Dhaka, gathered approximately 200 senior officials, ACCA members, industry thought leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss the future of accounting and finance in these key areas, all of which are significantly shaping the profession's evolution.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Prawma Tapashi Khan, FCCA, country manager of ACCA Bangladesh. She emphasised ACCA's ongoing commitment to driving thought leadership and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders in the accounting and finance sectors.

The symposium featured insightful discussions, keynote presentations, and engaging panel sessions that provided attendees with valuable perspectives on emerging trends and opportunities within the accounting profession.

The first session focused on the immense potential of Bangladesh's Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector, highlighting its growing significance in the global accounting and finance industry.

Experts discussed how the country's BPO services can play a crucial role in the international business ecosystem, particularly in accounting, by offering cost-effective solutions and highly skilled talent.

The second session shifted the focus to workforce transformation and talent development. It explored the evolving nature of the global workforce, with an emphasis on the importance of upskilling and talent retention in a rapidly changing environment.

The discussion underscored the importance of creating an agile and adaptable workforce to meet the challenges and demands of the modern business landscape.

The final session highlighted sustainability, specifically its critical role in corporate transparency and governance. Speakers discussed the increasing demand for sustainability reporting and how businesses can integrate sustainability practices into their operations to improve transparency, boost stakeholder trust, and ensure long-term success.

The symposium provided a platform for thought-provoking exchanges and networking, allowing participants to better understand how BPO, global talent trends, and sustainability will shape the future of accounting and finance.

Through this event, ACCA Bangladesh once again demonstrated its leadership in the sector, reinforcing its role as a key driver of change in the global accounting profession.
