ACC forms 15 special teams to speed up investigations
According to an office order signed by Nazmul Hasan, director of the ACC’s Administration and Human Resources Department, the initiative is part of broader ACC reforms.
To accelerate ongoing investigations and ensure the swift disposal of important cases, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has formed 15 special teams, officials said.
ACC Deputy Director Akhtarul Islam confirmed the formation of the teams to reporters yesterday (12 January). According to an office order signed by Nazmul Hasan, director of the ACC's Administration and Human Resources Department, the initiative is part of broader ACC reforms.
Each team is led by a Deputy Director and comprises five members, meaning a total of 75 assistant and sub-assistant officers will work across the 15 teams.
The office order states that all ongoing investigations under the ACC's Special Investigation, Money Laundering, Investigation-1, and Investigation-2 divisions will be brought under the purview of these new teams. The goal is to inject momentum into probe work and ensure that high-priority investigations are resolved quickly.
The special investigation teams became effective on 1 January 2026, and any changes to team leaders or members must be approved through the commission.
Under the new structure, team members will remain attached to the ACC wing under which their team was formed, and the team leader will serve as their supervisor, responsible for their annual performance reports.
Ongoing investigation files will be transferred to the special teams. Cases of comparatively lower priority will be reassigned to other ACC officials not part of the new teams. Members of the 15 teams will not be assigned to other task forces, except for existing joint investigation teams; those currently serving in such joint teams will remain there until their high-profile investigations are complete.
All ongoing investigations will be supervised by the ACC Director General or a director, and no separate individual cases will be assigned to team members outside the special teams' framework.
